Building Our Future

To meet our future needs, the Governors have resolved to develop the Clayton Campus. A planned £16m development over 5 to 7 years promises to deliver an extensive range of benefits and opportunities for the different communities we serve and draws on important feedback gained from various sources including a parental survey. The overwhelming response supported a phased delivery of projects, to include:

Sports complex including multi-use games area
Indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a café and social area, supporting a diverse range of activities, providing a state-of-the-art playing surface at any time of year and available to local clubs outside of School hours. Both QEGS and WGHS have earned outstanding reputations for the levels of sporting participation they encourage and the standards of elite performance they achieve. Maintaining this status is highly dependent on the ability to provide first-class facilities, whatever the weather.
Estimated cost - £3,300,000

Swimming Pool
Pupils from our Schools will have access to a brand new 25 metre pool which will also enable the Schools to host regional swimming competitions. The pool will also be available to local clubs and community groups outside School hours.
Estimated cost - £3,900,000

Business School
For older students, offering extensive curriculum support and acting as a core resource to explore further the subjects of business, economics, finance and law. The popularity of business-related A Levels continues to rise, and we have the opportunity to seek mentoring support from a growing number of local business people, as well as our alumni. Creating a dedicated centre for subject teaching, workshops and conferences will actively support the flourishing of our future business leaders.
Estimated cost - £1,900,000

Performing Arts Space
A further phase will follow to complete the development, with the addition of a performing arts space.
Estimated cost - £2,500,000
